Donko can also be rehydrated and added to chawanmushi (savory egg custard), or prepared simply with butter and soy sauce.

Sourced from Yagicho-Honten, a Japanese shop in Nihonbashi, Tokyo that has specialized in selling dashi products for nearly 300 years.
