Vaso Veladora Fluted Mezcal Cup

Made in Oaxaca

The venerable vaso veladora is a true Mexican classic. Originally used to hold prayer candles in Catholic churches throughout Oaxaca, each bears a symbol of the cross on their base.  Today you find them both in churches and bars. We suppose the crucifix in their base adds an existential dimension: You are reminded of your mortality with every sip. Extremely utilitarian because their shape makes them difficult to break and very portable, you can easily carry yours in your pocket, just in case. Sold individually.
